SARS-CoV-2 RBD-Tetanus Toxoid Conjugate Vaccine Induces a Strong Neutralizing Immunity in Preclinical Studies

چکیده

Controlling the global COVID-19 pandemic depends, among other measures, on developing preventive vaccines at an unprecedented pace. Vaccines approved for use and those in development intend to elicit neutralizing antibodies block viral sites binding host’s cellular receptors. Virus infection is mediated by spike glycoprotein trimer virion surface via its receptor domain (RBD). Antibody response this important outcome of immunization correlates well with neutralization. Here, we show that macromolecular constructs recombinant RBD conjugated tetanus toxoid (TT) induce a potent immune laboratory animals. Some advantages RBD-TT conjugates include predominant IgG due affinity maturation long-term specific B-memory cells. These result demonstrate potential conjugate vaccine candidates enable their advance clinical evaluation under name SOBERANA02, paving way antiviral vaccines.

Analysis of Sars-CoV-2 RBD Mutations in Khuzestan Province, Iran—A Retrospective Study, 2021

Background and Objective: One of the main reasons for the ongoing pandemic is the substitutions in the Receptor binding domain(RBD), which is involved in binding to the ACE2 receptor. Methods: Oro-nasopharyngeal swabs were collected from 41 confirmed patients between September 2020 and May 2021 to analyze the mutations of SARS-CoV-2 RBD in Khuzestan Province. Bi-Directional sequencing was use...

Meningococcal serogroups A, C, W-135, and Y tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine: a new conjugate vaccine against invasive meningococcal disease

Invasive meningococcal disease is a serious infection that occurs worldwide. It is caused by Neisseria meningitidis, of which six serogroups (A, B, C, W-135, X, and Y) are responsible for most infections. The case fatality rate of meningococcal disease remains high and can lead to significant sequelae. Vaccination remains the best strategy to prevent meningococcal disease. Polysaccharide vaccin...

In silico design a multivalent epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 for Iranian populations

Background: Due to high genetic variation in human leukocyte antigen )HLA( alleles, epitope-based vaccines don’t show equal efficacy in different human populations. therefore, we proposed a multi-epitope vaccine against SARS-CoV-2 for Iranian populations. Materials and Methods: For this purpose, the proteins without allergenicity and high antigenicity as well as conservancy level from SARS-CoV...

Immunological studies on tetanus toxoid

T toxoid is one of the most successful vaccines used in immunization programme almost all over the world. Neonatal tetanus can be prevented by immunizing women of childbearing age with tetanus toxoid, either during pregnancy or outside of pregnancy. Tetanus vaccine is used either in mono or in combination with other antigens i.e. Diphtheria, Pertussis (whole cell or acellular), Hepatitis B, Hae...

Quadrivalent meningococcal serogroups A, C, W, and Y tetanus toxoid conjugate vaccine (MenACWY-TT): a review.

INTRODUCTION Meningococcal disease poses serious health risks globally. The six Neisseria meningitidis serogroups responsible for most of the disease burden are A, B, C, W, X and Y. The case fatality rate remains high worldwide and prevention by vaccination remains the best strategy. Because polysaccharide vaccines are poorly immunogenic in young children, conjugated vaccines were developed to ...
